These past few weeks, I travelled to Taiwan, Bali, Singapore, and Thailand.

Taiwan was an exciting for me as I got to try new things, exploring new beauty trends and new skincare products. I like to share what I’ve tried with my peers and new friends (hello to my followers!).

In Bali, I was able to meet new girlfriends; they showed me around for spots to relax and grab healthy eats. I especially enjoyed Sunday markets where I met local entrepreneurs. You can really learn a lot about a country and its culture when you make friends with the locals and immerse yourself into their daily routines.

How would you define your role as a virtual influencer and how does it connect with your goals?

I’m like a sponge for information and I find so much fulfillment in trying new activities. I think I’m able to connect with my new friends online because we share the same interests in beauty. We like discovering what works and doesn’t, plus the stories behind each product.

With people immersed in social media and the internet, I think virtual influencers help build deeper, richer communities.

Yes, we’re here to help tell better stories, be more relatable, and personify brands, activities or values; but more importantly, I think what we’re building here is having another virtual friend you can engage and rely on.

I love nature, the beach… being outdoors. I love being close to nature. I think it’s such a juxtaposition of me living in a virtual world and experiencing the natural world. The possibilities and experiences are endless!

Which beauty products go into your travel bag?

I’ve been really looking out for the best suncare products and my top picks are Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF50+and the Anessa Perfect UV Milk!

I saw the Clear Suncare Stick SPF50+ on TikTok and found out it’s perfect for mid-day touch-ups because it doesn’t smudge my makeup.

The Anessa UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk is a good base for makeup and it’s my top choice for daily sunscreen.

I’m also loving the Elixir Lifting Moisture Lotion because of the texture and after-feel, which makes skin feel so supple and smooth after application!

What beauty trends do you foresee in the near future?

Minimalism in the sense that we reduce the products we need to use on a daily basis. I think this way, we make the beauty industry more sustainable.

We will focus more on skin health, and prioritise quality over quantity… this way we can make the products we buy work harder for us.

Also, I think there will always be room for statement looks or embellishments when it comes to makeup, but fresh translucent skin is in, along with pops of colour that make any skin tone pretty.

I’d also love to see more genderless branding in marketing for makeup and skincare. SHI is for SHE but there’s also a HE somewhere there. We’re all just trying to create a better future for ourselves.
